May 19, 2004Industry experts say gas prices could continue to climbThey have reached record highs, and the end is not yet in sight, according to industry experts. The U.S. continues to buy more and more of its crude oil from overseas. In 2003, the level of dependence on imports, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) said, was 55 percent.
