American Petroleum Institute Supports ANWR
The American Petroleum Institute (API) released a letter yesterday in support of environmentally responsible exploration of the 10-02 Area of ANWR. The letter, written by API president Red Cavaney, is addressed to all members of Congress states strong support for the opening of ANWR in order to increase the nation’s security as well as economic progress. The adoption of ANWR in the Department of Defense appropriations bill is a necessary step the Congress must take to complete the budget and energy work Congress started in the beginning of this year. The American Petroleum Institute letter states the known great petroleum potential of the 10-02 Area and the common sense logic of moving to tap those resources for the nation.
The API is one of the nation’s most clear and informed and best source of information on the Petroleum industry and our national energy consumption. Their web site is www.api.org and contains hundreds of pages of up to date energy data for professionals, students and the general public.
